i should always trust my hunches. Driving in downtown dc late saturday pm, i had to zig-zag a bit because PA ave was closed in the block of the justice department. My first thought was the AG had resigned. I even made an 11pm call to REK, asking if something was going on. He knew of nothing, and even last night we joked about the possibility.

Well, as we all know now, the AG has resigned.

Perhaps we should all go to the races?

greetings from some small township in suburban philadelphia, where i am attending the annual folk festival. i'm here more for the social aspects than the music, the lineup this year is something of a yawner. i do have a few friends coming in tomorrow, and that's something to look forward to.
i must say the weather is gorgeous today...highs around 80 and the humidity is gone. Yesterday it was thick and damp and gross. Add to that a 2 and a half hour drive that took 5, and you get a pretty good picture of how things are going.

I'm sorry, but Flossie is no name for a hurricane. It's just wrong! And if we've got hurricane Nan coming up, then "something is very, very wrong here." (to paraphrase Al Pacino in "And Justice For All")

Not that Flossie and Nan were in that film. they are, of course, two of the Bobbsey Twins. Nowhere near a hurricane on the naughty scale.

whoa! has it been a month since I shared anything of interest...or not of interest?

guess that shows you what things have been like around here.

actually, there was a bit of excitement. I received an abandoned property notice from my mortgage lender, regarding an escrow refund they'd sent me in 2003. Somehow, I'd missed cashing the 141 dollar check. Think of all the interest I've missed!

I'm driving to WV tomorrow, to watch a friend race his car. Luckily, the 100 degree heat has broken, and it'll only be in the 90s. Imagine what it'd be like on the track! I'm glad I'm not going to be down there....
