so, everyone wants me to round up emergency back-up earbuds. Any in particular? I hate things in my ears, and am very concerned about:
a:leakage---no one needs to hear what i'm listening to
b: hearing damage. I want to be able to hear what I'm listening to, and clearly. But not if i have to crank up the volume to 11 in order to do so.

Well, mine don't leak, and they effectively block outside noises (so no need for extra volume), but they do sit inside the ear canal...and they ain't cheap, either. They're ER-6isolators, from Etymotic. I love 'em.

I have sony ones and I bought the griffin earbuds to cover them. Check them out here:

Despite their somewhat lukewarm reviews, I liked them but they only fit Sony earbuds.

I also like all things Koss so I would imagine these would be excellent as well:

You're most welcome! No, mine aren't noise canceling - they're just very effective at sealing out noise. (30-40dB, if my memory serves.) You can find them at etymotic.com.

But they do fit tightly in the ear canal, so you might find them uncomfortable.
