make a summer gypsy bag from a 36" square scarf or other beautiful fabric:
1) tie a loose knot about 6 inches down on each of the four corners (you could slip a beaded bangle under the knot or on top for interest, or pin a cheap brooch for texture)
2) tie two of the corners together, then the opposing two corners together to make handles, et viola!
okayokay, I saw a Martha Stewart editor do it, but try it! very cute
well, thanks for coming through! I see that everyone else is ignoring my plea.
a few years ago, I brought back some Furoshiki from Japan...it's the fabric pieces they use for wrapping packages. I bet that would work.
well, hey and et viola (sometimes I crack myself up)
viola indeed
that would beat any scarf I can think of...let us know how it turns out
i like the idea of using these pieces for wrapping...but then you have to give them up! One can't really say, oh, by the way, hand over the wrapping, the gift is all you're getting!
