looks to be another nice day in the city. I'm about to head up to the natural history museum, to check out the butterfly conservatory among other things.

then I'm meet up with NM, and we'll do a bit of window shopping, including a stop at the sure-to-be-a-zoo century 21.

dinner last night turned out to be at rosa mexicano. The guacamole was as good as promised, and the entrees were much better than I'd been lead to believe. I had a very interesting crabmeat enchilada, with a tomatillo sauce. Not heavy at all, and quite tasty. Everyone else seemed to like their specials.

*waves to NM* Wow! Good Mex-style in NY? About time!

Well, there's always the Apple store - over on 59th, I think. ;-) Or maybe Conrans?

You already DID my Manhattan "must do" - the Museum. There're also the art museums: Met, Modern. Love those. And, of course, the food carts! Central Park? Ball game?

Oops, just saw you went to the park.

Are you staying at the Westin?

staying at the hyatt, at grand central. was doing very well until I decided that nm had to see bendels.

yes, i did it. i let myself have a mini-makeover, then bought too much stuff.

but it looks very nice...like me, but a bit brighter.

NM even bought some, too! The woman who worked on us was the lead "paula dorf" trainer for sephora, and happened to be filling in at bendels today. Not pushy at all, and didn't blink when i didn't express interest in buying some of the stuff she suggested.

We just had a very late lunch at the oyster bar at grand central. Very nice gazpacho with lobster chunks (a big bowl for 6.00), and an appetizer of 6 fried oysters for me.

Off for a birthday (late) manicure, compliments of NM, and then to china town to meet my friends Liz and Dan. They atteneded a baptist wedding earlier today, and need to recover!

thanks for the suggestions! The weather was so nice i walked through the park to the museum...by mistake, of course. I set my mental gps to "museum," and ended up at the Met. Right streets, wrong side of the park. But it was a great walk, and so nice that I decided to walk around the park (down cpw to cps) on my way to meet nm on 5th and 59th. And then we roamed around, before walking back to the hotel, at 42nd and lex.

i think all that exercise allows a treat, don't you?
